Job Statement
The Proposal Coordinator position assists the Proposal Department Manager and shares responsibility for preparing proposals for the Minerals Capital Business Area that require equipment and systems solutions for projects.  The objective of the position is to assist the department in the production of high quality competitive bids for on-time submittal with accurate cost estimates that facilitate the successful sale and execution of these projects.
Job Duties and responsibilities
•Assist the Proposal Department Manager in ensuring RFQs are assigned and progress is updated and monitored
•Ensure timely review of the customer’s RFQ and distribution of specifications to relevant parties for their input.
•Work in conjunction with Global Sales Support, Process Engineering, Proposal Engineers, and external vendors as required to ensure a fit-for-purpose product solution is developed.
•Work in conjunction with Global Procurement to prepare an accurate overall cost estimate for the project scope by preparing inquiries for equipment and evaluating vendor quotes for technical & commercial accuracy and completeness.
•Utilize CRM system (Salesforce) for documentation and reporting of proposal activities and status by maintaining up-to-date and accurate system data.
•Prepare detailed and precise bid documentation in accordance with Metso standard procedures and in compliance with customers’ bid requirements, identifying and documenting exceptions and clarifications.
•Assist in preparation of firm offer approval requests and ensure the required documentation (i.e. Risk & Opportunity, Cost Uncertainty, Cashflow, & Project Presentation) is completed accurately and on-time.
•Assist in fielding and answering customer questions in a timely manner.
•Participate in project kick-off meetings as a hand-off to Project Management and assist in preparation of a complete handover package including technical and commercial details with financial review.
•Attend customer meetings as necessary to develop customer solutions and provide technical and commercial support in closing sales.
•Perform other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.
Qualifications and experience
•Bachelor Degree
•Experience in Proposals with OEM serving mining or other heavy equipment industries preferred
•SalesForce and SAP experience is preferred
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport

•Highly motivated with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines
•Polished customer relations and good interpersonal relations skills
•Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate with others.
•In-depth knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PP)
•Able to travel on occasion, both domestic and international (<5%).
