Human Resources Coordinator (Temporary to Perm)

Responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the Human Resources Director for North America and the North America Human Resources team.   Provides confidential administrative and technical support related to a variety of Human Resources functions.  Assignments may include managing special projects, compiling and analyzing data, coordinating multiple concurrent activities and interacting with individuals and groups at most levels in the organization.    The position requires agility, a bias for action, resourcefulness, ability to manage competing priorities as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with special projects such as flu shot program, employee referral program, etc. 
  • Administrator for DISC 360 assessments and personality assessments
  • Prepares a wide variety of material, reports and presentations using intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Organize meetings and events, including making travel arrangements.
  • Updates website content on Intranet, including maintaining HR’s SharePoint site. 
  • Coordinates with Metso Financial Services (MFS) in resolving issues related to paying invoices -coding invoices, setting up vendors, etc. 
  • Coordinate with the relocation vendor, payroll, and HR managers in administering Metso’s Relocation Programs.
  • Upload documents to employee electronic employee files.
  • Prepare and submit Travel Expense reporting for assigned members of the HR team.
  • Judgment and Decision making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential  actions to choose the most appropriate action.
  • Use critical thinking, logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative, solutions, approaches options and conclusions
  • Service orientation – always looking for way to help others.
  • Maintains office equipment and supplies
  • Assist the Recruiting Team in entering recruitment requisitions and posting.
  • Assist the Recruiting Team in scheduling candidate interviews, booking candidate travel, and processing candidate expense reimbursements.
  • Support the Recruiting Team in drafting offer letters and coordinating with the Employment Administration & Records Team (EA&R) in sending out new hire packets.
  • Help Maintain the recruitment system, including entering requisitions, facilitating the approval process, posting positions, statusing candidates and closing requisitions. 
  • With guidance from a recruiter, review resumes, perform phone screens, conduct reference checks and facilitate scheduling of interviews with Hiring Managers.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. On occasion, there may be a requirement to travel outside of the office environment either by vehicle or other mode of transportation.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, for long periods during meetings, recruitment/job fairs, events, etc.. 

Up to 10% may be required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or an equivalent GED.
  2. 1-3 years of experience working in Human Resources or related field or experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s or Masters' degree in human resources or related field.
  2. PHR, SPHR, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
  3. 3-10 years of human resource experience.
Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
