The Operational Procurement Agent is a member of the team responsible for delivering excellent customer service through demand processing and issuance of purchase orders for both MCA and MSE business lines.  Operational Procurement Agent is responsible for processing demand, creation and issuance of purchase orders in support of both MCA and MSE Business lines.  This position is responsible for effectively supporting procurement demand assigned by category utilizing both established contract pricing and project specific information negotiated and provided by Strategic Procurement.  Additionally, this position will support non-strategic procurement activities, including vendor identification.
 
Requirements
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in a large, multi-business unit environment
  • Must have direct experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid USA passport
  • SAP MM experience
  • Direct relevant experience in the construction, heavy equipment, or mining industries
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required:
  • Basics of Purchasing and Logistics in an MRP/ ERP environment
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain management, contract, engineering and service procedures
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and legal terms and conditions
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of negotiation techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal written, verbal, and phone communication skills.  Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, visitors, co-workers, management, contractors, and suppliers
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Must have ability to complete assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision 
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Knowledge of personal computers required, with ability to productively apply Microsoft Office package
  • Knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Basic understanding to read engineering drawings
    Physical:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 30 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolds at jobsites and customer facilities
  • Travel: This position will require some travel, both domestic and international (less than 10%)
