Job Description
Location preference for this position is San Antonio, TX or Irapuato, Mexico.  The geographic region supported will likely be Mexico and Central America, depending on the candidate selected.  The Regional Account Manager is a Product Specialist responsible for generating sales activity for capital equipment, plants, spare/wear parts and services within the assigned territory.  This Account Manager will be capable of selling Capital equipment, Plants, Aftermarket Products & Service, contracts for maintenance/plant optimization and other services to Metso customers in the various recycling industries.
•Through close collaboration with the sales / product organizations and service team, analyze Metso’s market potential in the assigned territory for capital and aftermarket products and maintenance services in the recycling industries.
•Achieve sales plan / performance and increase market share and number of accounts in assigned territory for annual sales volume by obtaining orders from end users.
•Develop a clear understanding of territory activity, quotes and customer needs, and effectively communicate and document this information to management and product line personnel.
•Establish and maintain a good company image within territory by providing exceptional service, a professional business attitude and up-to-date product knowledge to existing and potential accounts.
•Actively pursue development of the designated sales territory including new applications and expansion into new markets.
•Provide timely follow-up and feedback of all proposals, maintaining a monthly open proposal report.
•Function as local customer contact for information concerning Metso products and services coordinating flow of information between customer service and customer as needed.
•Use the ISP (individual sales plan) as the major tool for business discussion and business development planning, tracking Results, Activities and Competencies as provided by the General Manager, NAM Sales.
•Provide quarterly forecasts for products / services as directed by the management team.
•Work directly with the tools proved, such as, IB, etc – in a timely and accurate manner.
•Provide timely submission of travel itineraries, call reports and competitor activity reports.
•Demonstrate cooperative team effort within work group.  Works effectively with other groups and departments.  Demonstrate respect for others.
•Possess depth of knowledge and skill required, needing little or no supervision.
•Work with marketing group personnel to develop effective marketing programs to maximize business.
•Develop market-pricing strategies to increase product penetration in the assigned territory.
•Position requires good customer relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, mechanical aptitude, creativity, innovation, and ability to see the larger picture. Practices safe HSE at all times.
•Overnight travel (both domestic and international) may be required as needed
•Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Engineering discipline. Equivalent experience commensurate with the knowledge gained through completion of one of the above degrees will be considered in lieu of a degree.
•Minimum of three (3) years’ industry sales experience is required.
•Familiarity with recycling equipment and systems applications, with experience in Sales/Service in a manufacturing, recycling, construction, scrap or steel related industry or environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
•Specific sales experience associated with recycling, scrap handling equipment is a plus.
•Strong leadership and relationship building skills, a bias for action and detail-oriented behaviors are required
•Proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office software programs.
•Highly motivated, self-starting individual with the ability to plan, organize, work under stress, meet deadlines and work independently is required. Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere.
•Capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time; organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment.
•Possesses strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.
•Ability to travel, as required, up to 75% on a regular basis.  Some overnight travel to locations locally and in remote areas is required.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
•The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance.
•Must be physically able to climb onto structures, stairs, ladders, scaffolds at jobsites, customer facilities, and industrial plants, inspect equipment for failure and process analysis and enter equipment access points.
•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences.
•Fluency in Spanish required.
•Must be able to effectively communicate verbally in English.
•Must have a valid driver’s license.
