Site Supervisor - Classic Vibrating Spares (North American Market)

The Site Supervisor manages the support of Metso's classic vibrating sales effort in our Minerals business area. Support arenas include engineering, pricing, training, inventory planning, and procurement planning. This position’s main purpose is to direct and help our market area sales team drive and grow our classic vibrating spares business and provide proper support for the installed base.
  • Responsible for providing supervision and technical assistance to vendor personnel for assembly and manufacture of all Classic Vibrating Products
  • Responsible for incoming and outgoing Classic Vibrating parts.
  • Inspect all outsourced and purchased classic equipment parts and assemblies.
  • Provide testing and test reports for all classic vibrating equipment.
  • Provide the necessary training tools (either directly, or coordinated with other BU resources) to help ensure market area sales team and third party distribution partners are competent to effectively sell classic vibrating spares
  • Provide guidance and support necessary to maintain quality build Classic Equipment at vendor locations.
  • Work closely with inventory control personnel to optimize inventory levels in line with our growth strategy
  • Work closely with our procurement group to ensure spares are sourced in the best way, ensuring high quality, optimized costs, and target margins
  • Identify, assess, and coordinate product development opportunities that may include parts bundling programs, new spares products, retrofits, etc.
  • Works to ensure spares related company intellectual property is controlled and protected.
  • Assist as needed with travel to customer operations, vendor facilities, corporate locations occasionally.
  • Input data into Aton and SAP 
  • Familiarity with the broad range of MCT Mining and Construction equipment / products with specialty in the vibrating equipment arena
  • Solid knowledge base of Metso MCT services/aftermarket business

  • Strong communication skills, plus co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment.
  • Skills need to include building and managing internal relationships, negotiation skills and understanding  
  • Technical Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Ten (10) years applicable industry, company, and product experience

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Ability to travel overnight +/-20% or more, frequently on short notice.
